Cotton Exchange, New Orleans by Edgar Degas, 1873

Huzzah! It is the first Wednesday after the 15th of the month! Do you know what that means?  . . . Yes! Random bits of news! Previously, I referred to this as the monthly news, upon closer inspection, this is more accurately published news from the first two weeks of the month. Oh, well, c’est le vie. Regardless, the newsreel is a fun bit compromising the latest news in regards to the world’s beloved 19th century. Articles typically run the gamut of archeological digs to steampunk or 19th century inspired modernity. Only the eight most intriguing and gossipy headlines make the list. “Intriguing and gossipy” being subjective phrases here. February’s aggregation spans new games, a once in a lifetime auction opportunity, fabulous travel lodgings, historical photographs, art, opera, and theater integration and the letters home from a soldier on the front. What is more, there are two video clips worth the watch!
